We are committed to preserving the authentic mining heritage of the Southwest while offering a safe, educational, and family-friendly environment that encourages connection with the land. Members may explore using hand tools, reflect quietly in nature, enjoy the surrounding scenery, and experience Sedona’s unique landscape and energy with intention and respect.

At Kinney Mining Co., we practice responsible stewardship by following Leave No Trace principles and promoting sustainability to ensure the site remains protected for future generations. Our Mining Site Offers

We chose Sedona because it is unlike anywhere else in the world. People are drawn here to reflect, to heal, to connect with the land, and to experience its powerful natural presence and breathtaking landscapes. For us, as educators in metaphysics, personal development, and holistic awareness, this region offers a rare opportunity to thoughtfully weave together learning, reflection, and connection.

While rockhounding and prospecting can take place in many locations, here the experience goes beyond surface exploration. It becomes an opportunity to slow down, engage with the environment, and leave with something meaningful, whether that is a discovery, an insight, or a deeper appreciation for the land and its energy.

Participation offers a glimpse into what early prospectors may have experienced during the era of the original Arizona Gold Rush. Quartz is abundant in the region, and the area is well known for naturally occurring materials such as crystals, turquoise, amethyst, jasper, agate, and opalm, any of which may be observed or found at the surface as part of the educational experience.

Arizona is widely regarded as one of the nation’s most geologically diverse regions, attracting rockhounding enthusiasts from around the world. The surrounding buttes, mesas, and mountain formations contribute to a landscape rich in geological history, where minerals, gemstones, and trace elements have been documented for generations. The central Arizona region where our claim is located holds significant historical importance, having ranked among the leading areas in the state for early gold production.
